Teesdale Way Enhancement

This project forms part of the Paths for All People Project and aims to improve the accessibility and condition of the footpath right along the section of the Teesdale Way within our area. Inspections of the footpath have been carried out and issues identified. Works are now completed to replace awkward stiles with gates, improve the drainage and improve the signage and waymarking.

As part of this project we teamed up with the Friends of the North Pennines to roll out a ‘Donate a Gate’ scheme across Teesdale and the wider North Pennines area. The idea behind the scheme is to make it possible to replace as many stiles as possible by encouraging members of the public to sponsor the installation of a gate. For more information see the registration form in the Access section of our downloads page.

This project is now complete.
