The Lost Landscapes project aimed to stem the loss of natural features of the landscape, and ensure the revival and renewal of key species and habitats. It involved surveys, habitat restoration or creation and management of key sites, with the aim to improve the biodiversity value of the site.
The project has the following objectives:
• To improve the ecological value of habitat sites within the partnership area;
• To engage communities in their local biodiversity and give them a sense of pride and ownership of certain sites so they are managed and maintained in the correct way; and,
• To train and engage volunteers in habitat survey skills and habitat management skills.
This project is now complete.
