Field Boundary Programme
The project works with local landowners and farmers to identify areas where field boundaries features, including walls, hedges, trees and other markers such as boundary stones and posts, can be conserved or restored. It aims to retain the distinctive local character of traditional fields, and also preserve and increase the range of habitats for particular species, and wildlife in general.
This is complemented by training in related skills and practical conservation work for both existing volunteers and newcomers of all ages. The emphasis is on sites which have public and/or community benefit.
This project is now complete.
