Music at the Heart of Teesdale
This project aims to put music at the heart of the Partnership, and celebrates and interprets the landscape through its folk music traditions, both old and new. It uses the landscape to both inspire the revival, and be a celebration of it.
The main areas of work within this project are the research into Teesdale’s folk roots, the creation the young persons folk band 'Cream Tees' who attend folk music workshops and sessions and perform at a variety of events, the composition of a new piece of music inspired by Teesdale’s folk traditions and its special landscape qualities and the revival of longsword dancing.
