Take part in Festival of the Views this August! The Festival will run from the 1st to 3rd August and will use views from around Teesdale to inspire local people, as well as celebrating the influence Teesdale’s landscape had on famous painters and poets.
The Festival kicks off on Saturday 1st August with a watercolour workshop with local artist Anne Mason. The participants will be taking inspiration from local views. All abilities are welcome.
On Saturday there will also be a walking Photography Workshop led by photographer David Williams around the iconic views of Barnard Castle. He will give you tips and advice on how to bestcapture a photo of a view!
On Sunday 2nd August there will be a 12 mile guided walk that will show off some of the most iconicviews in Teesdale. The walk willtake in views such as Egglestone Abbey, BrignallOld Church, Scotchman’s Stoneand Meeting of theWaters.
On Monday 3rd August there will be a family activity creating ‘Marvellous Mosaics’ inspired by local views using natural and recycled materials. Later on Monday there will also be talk Monks, Millers andMarblers by one of our volunteers Peter Singer. It will take you on a journey down the Tees covering theheritage of the river and the impact ithas had on local communities andindustries.
